DESCRIPTION

Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) 2017.07.1 (or later) will successfully upload into HPE OneView, but OneView will not display the SPP inventory or perform firmware updates with this SPP.

In the "Firmware Bundles" master pane, the Version will be listed as "Unknown," and on the "Details" pane, the following message will be displayed:

"The firmware bundle information is unavailable."

With 2017.07.1 (or later SPPs), the format and directory structure of the SPP has changed and OneView versions released prior to this change cannot parse the new SPP format.

NOTE: Do not use SPP 2017.07.1 (or later releases) with the OneView versions that do not support the new format.

SCOPE

Any of the following HPE OneView versions are affected:

  • OneView 3.x - All versions 3.00.07 (or earlier)
  • OneView 2.x - All versions 2.00.08 (or earlier)
  • OneView 1.2x - All versions (or earlier)

RESOLUTION

Upgrade to one of the following versions of HPE OneView before uploading the Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) 2017.07.1 (or later SPP releases):

  • OneView 3.10
  • OneView 3.00.08
  • OneView 2.00.09

If the latest SPP release has already been uploaded, upgrading OneView will cause the system to refresh and function correctly.

This also applies to any custom SPP based on SPP 2017.07.1 or later releases.
